What I have to do during Student Teaching

I thought I would tell you what student teaching consists of.  I have to be in the classroom for the entire school day, five days a week, for five days.  I am supposed to get to school when the teacher does and leave when the teacher does.
Week 1: I observe and get to know the teacher and students.
Week 2: I teach one lesson everyday
Week 3: I teach two lessons everyday.
Week 4: I teach three lessons everyday.
Week 5: I teach four lessons everyday.
I am required to make lessons plans for all of the lessons that I teach and I will be turning those in at the end of the 5-weeks. I will also be formally observed by the classroom teacher twice during the 5 weeks.  In addition, a person from the University of La Verne will be observing me once or twice a week. It seems like a lot to do but I am looking forward to it!

Anticipation of Student Teaching

So, I copied Katie's idea about blogging our student teaching experiences.  So far I am just wondering who my teacher is going to be and what they are going to be like.  I hope that I have a nice teacher who can control their class so that I will be more relaxed when teaching my lessons.  It wouldn't hurt if my teacher really wanted to help me in planning my lessons either.
I find out my placement by March 6th and I start on March 9th.  It is going to be a long five weeks of getting up early and staying up late.  I will have to start packing a lunch everyday and I definitely need to figure out what I am going to wear everyday...please have casual Fridays!!!! I am very nervous about student teaching, but I know that it will be a great experience.  I just have to keep an open mind and work hard. Wish me luck!
Now I must finish homework for my other classes...Did I mention that I still have to go to school twice a week for other classes while student teaching? This is going to be nuts!
